Expect this year’s Daytona 500 to be the most-watched in its history. Why? Because a woman will be leading the way with 42 men following. Danica Patrick made NASCAR history over the weekend by becoming the first woman ever to win the pole for a Sprint Cup race. Not only that, she has the pole for the sport’s biggest race of the year.

What a long race that was to watch!! As one of the announcers said, 'We've seen fire and we've seen rain." The 54th Daytona 500 was run for the first time during prime-time on Monday night and boy o boy was it packed with craziness.

We waited and waited all afternoon Sunday for NASCAR and Fox to give us the "updates" on the conditions of the track at Daytona Speedway. The good news is that we had plenty of snacks and cold drinks on hand to keep us busy.  Anyone with access to the radar in Daytona could tell that is wasn't looking good for the race to get going.

This week has been crazy at Daytona! The wrecks and the action have sure given the fans more than what we ask for at the super speedways! Did you watch last night's truck race??

The Daytona 500 is this weekend and yesterday featured the Gatorade Duel races. During the final lap of the first race, Danica Patrick's car got away from her and she ended up smacking an inside wall at near full speed.

This weekend's NASCAR races will be graced with the presence of two country stars.  Chris Cagle is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at the Drive4COPD 300 on Saturday at Daytona.  Cagle's image will be on the deck-lid of the #01 car driven.......

Craig Campbell is revving his engines. The ‘Family Man’ singer will make his way down to the Daytona International Speedway this coming weekend, where he will headline the Coca-Cola stage in the Midway Fan Zone prior to the start of the Daytona 500. They really do go hand in hand don't they?  Country music and NASCAR.  I'm guessing that most of you would agree that it just don't get no better than a warm summer night, some racing and hanging out with your buddies with a few cold beers.

The field is now set for Sunday’s Daytona 500 after Thursday’s qualifying Twin 150’s. Kurt Busch went two for two at Daytona.  After winning last Saturday’s Bud Shootout he won the first 150 mile race, then in the second race Jeff Burton beat teammate Clint Bowyer to the finish line to set the field for NASCAR’s biggest race.
