10 Minute Law Explained
In New York City, the city that seems to be the loudest at times, there is a law on the books known as the "10 minute law".
According to the law, law enforcement can get involved if "the noise can easily be heard from a residential address: for 10 minutes straight between the times 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM or for 5 minutes straight between the times 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM".
How many times have you heard someone tell you that their dogs never bark? They may not-when the owner is home. But we have all heard dogs barking for what seems like an eternity when the owners are not at home and sometimes when they are!
Don't get me wrong. A dog barking can be good and is a Greta way too let you know that someone has entered your property. However, when it goes on and on for no reason other than the dog is bored, it can get annoying.
