The Bills Will Still Hold The 50 Yard Finish This Year – Virtually

It's how we are doing just about everything these days...virtually.  And that's no different for the Buffalo Bills and a race they have every year that normally ends on the 50-yard line of New Era Field.

They call it the 50 Yard Finish and it's back again this year.  The proceeds will still support the Independent Health Foundation to support families in need by providing necessary supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Only this year, it's going to be a little different.

According to a press release from the Bills, they will still hold the race, but it will be done virtually.

So how does that work?

Each participant will be asked to dress in their favorite Bills gear on Saturday, June 27th while they run 3.1 miles (wherever they are).  They are then asked to post pictures on social media using #50YardFinish.  The idea is to catch the eye of Eric Wood and Brandon Beane who will also be participating in the race that day.  If you do, you might win a giveaway!

The first 1500 registrants will receive a race bib and a participation medal.

" For each registration, one wellness or produce bag that includes essential food and hygiene items will be donated to a local family."

Registration is only $20.  However, if you've already registered for the original race and don't want to participate in the virtual race, runners will have the option of a full refund, a complimentary transfer of registration to the 2021 race, or a $15 refund and automatic registration into the virtual race. Registrants also have the option of donating their entire prepaid race fee to the Independent Health Foundation.
