As a small business, it has to be the ultimate goal to be able to sell your product in bigger retail stores.  But for one local ice cream shop, they're going to have to stop doing that for a while.

If you've ever tried Lake Effect Artisan Ice Cream, you know how good it is.  They've been growing and expanding over the last couple years from one shop to two.  They've even made their product available by selling pints in select retail stores across the Western New York area to make it easier to get it into people's homes.

However, they're going to have to suspend that for a while.

They made the painful decision over the weekend on their facebook page:

As you can see, it's a supply chain issue that is giving them trouble.  In their words, they're having a hard time "procuring ingredients in a timely fashion from key suppliers.  All of this, combined with demands Covid has placed on our staff is what ultimately led us to this decision."

It's incredible that we are still having supply chain issues and it's something that most of us have never had to deal with.  We have been very blessed in this country in the past to have everything we've needed just about any time we needed it.

If you want to get some Lake Effect Artisan Ice Cream, the good news is, that it will still be available.  You're just going to have to go to one of their two locations to get it in Buffalo or Lockport...and maybe grab an extra cone for the ride home...
