As the COVID vaccines are being issued and many more events and places are starting to plan for a full return to action, this may be the best time for you to get a passport.

In a press release from Erie County Clerk, Mickey Kearns, it was noted that,

“The State Department recently notified us that routine processing times are now at ten to twelve weeks and expedited service is four to six weeks,” said Kearns. “Since international travel is on pause, this seems like an opportune time to begin the process for anyone needing a passport to check your current passport to see when it expires in order to avoid delays once overseas travel restrictions are lifted.”

As of Monday, April 26th, many young kids are headed back to school for an in-person, 5 days a week schedule. This is great news for parents in a wide variety of districts and one more step towards a return to at least some sort of normal. Many people are hoping to make travel plans either over the summer or for the fall/Holiday travel months.

Many people are getting the vaccine to battle COVID 19 and there are plenty of open appointments and walk-in locations around Erie County.
