Raymond's sister wrote us this:

Raymond is my brother. He is the best brother, uncle, son, husband and step dad anyone can ask for. He has done tours over in Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay as well as other places. My brother lives in VA and since we are here in NY we only get to see him maybe once or twice a year. He is always there when any of us need him all we need to do is pick up the phone. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about him and miss him. We wish we could see him more, but we understand that he is out protecting and serving our country. He joined the US Navy just out of high school back in 2002 and he plans to retire from there.

We are certainly grateful for all of his sacrifices too and we are proud to call him our Hometown Hero of the week!

If you would like to nominate someone to be our next Hometown Hero, click the button below. We will choose a new Hometown Hero each Friday. If their name is chosen, we will not only feature them on WYRK.com, but we’ll be sure to thank them for their service on the air and dedicate the first song on Noon Tunes to them.

Once again, thank you to Raymond Ellis, our Hometown Hero of the week!
