Should A Varsity Football Member Have Been Kicked Off Team For ‘Hazing + Mean’ Poem? Read It Here + Be The Judge!
Is this bullying? Is it called for? You be the judge.
Nick Andre was a member of the Rittman varsity football team, and in his English class, everyone was asked to write a poem about something they were passionate about. He did just that.
He wrote a poem about his frustration with the football team, their 1-7 season and, specifically, about the shortcomings of Rittman wide receiver Blake Dennis, who happens to be the coach's son. Here's the poem:
Non stop passes from best friend to best friend.
Continuously doing what doesn't work,
The inability to separate being a father and a coach.
But yet still the "super star",
Where's my scholarship?
I can drop passes,
And be afraid to take a hit.
That's top line div. 1 material right there.
If that's what they wanted,
They definitely got it.
This whole town will be glad when he is gone.
For anyone who doesn't understand what I am saying?
He was kicked off the team, and according to Yahoo, the principal of the school said: "[The student] wrote a mean and disrespectful poem about another student and our athletic director/head coach. [It was] hazing, harassment."
Is this really bullying, hazing or harassment? Or is the world getting to soft?
