Rest In Peace To A New York Legend [PHOTOS]
There are some voices that just feel like home when you hear them. We all have childhood memories of big events or special moments that are brought back when you hear a person singing a song or delivering a speech or simply just speaking. For fans in New York and Los Angeles, that voice has been passed on.
There is sad news to report this week as legendary baseball broadcaster, Vin Scully has passed away. Vincent Edward Scully was born in The Bronx in New York City in 1927.
Vin Scully Through The Years
When I heard about Vin Scully passing, I was getting ready for the day and had the 4am television news on. As soon as I heard his voice so many great moments came back to mind. My father taught me how to throw and catch a baseball. Throwing the ball with my dad after dinner on hot summer nights was one of the best parts of being a kid. I always dreamed of being a pro ball player and what kid did't imagine hearing Vin Scully call their name? Being a member of the media, I also have dreamed of being as big and vibrant on air as Scully was. Simply perfection!
He was best known for his 67 seasons calling games for Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning in 1950 (when the franchise was located in Brooklyn) and ending in 2016.
