Now that the chilly winter weather is far behind us, we definitely hope anyway, it's time to head outdoors and start the spring clean up. Just in time for the warm weather headed our way this week, the first Saturday in May is known as "I Love My Park Day."

Parks all across New York State take this day to clean up the grounds of litter, improve trails and restore wildlife habitats. At some sites, new trees and flowers will be planted as well. This is the seventh year that clean-ups have been organized by Parks and Trails New York.  Now if you're planning on volunteering your time, don't worry, you won't be expected to cut up limbs or fallen trees from the nasty wind storms WNY has had! This is a 100% volunteer day so any amount of time you can give is greatly appreciated.
