Within the last week or so you've probably seen a lot more deer dashing across streets, standing in fields along side roads or maybe even victims to vehicles in the road.  I was perusing through a number of out prep sites when I found a little article on Deer v.s. Vehicle collisions.  The article said .....that deer collisions are declining, but the cost of repair has gone up.

 

Here are a few more stats on colliding with Bambi!
- According to statistics released by State Farm Insurance, November has the highest number of deer-vehicle collisions.  More than 18% of the crashes happen then.

- October is #2 and December #3

- Between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 there were 1.09 million deer- vehicle collisions.  That is down 7% from last year and 9% from 3 years ago.

 

Odds for deer-vehicle collisions are the highest in these states!

1. West Virginia- 1 in 53

2. Iowa- 1 in 77

3. South Dakota- 1 in 81

4. Pennsylvania- 1 in 86

5. Michigan- 1 in 90
