Weekend Activities At Letchworth State Park

Memorial Day Weekend! The unofficial start of summer! I love this weekend!

My family usually heads up to camping for the weekend, and by family, I mean all of them! We have the pop-ups and tents set up, and we spend the weekend talking and eating and sitting by the campfire. It’s the best time of year! This weekend, get out and enjoy the outdoors!

This weekend, Letchworth State Park has quite a few activities happening! Tomorrow, there is the Learn to Catch a Fish Family Picnic! This event is great, especially if you have children and you want them to learn how to fish the correct way. Spend the day at this carnival-style event. It will include games, activities and educational workshops. Plus, you can fish for free! Yes, I said FREE! They will even throw in a free lunch and door prizes as well. The event is free, but keep in mind, they do charge $7 for state parking. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Trailside Lodge at Letchworth State Park.

Then, kicking off today and running until Monday is the Letchworth Red, White and Blue Balloon Rally! This weekend, 30 hot air balloons will be taking off from the Letchworth Gorge. You’ll get to see some beautiful hot air balloons, so definitely bring along your camera! The event will take place at the Archery Field Overlook on the main park road. This is at the Castile Entrance.
