The West Seneca Police announced today that a 5 hour stand out in the town ended peacefully with the arrest of one suspect.

According to a press release on the West Seneca Police department's Facebook page, the standoff ended around 8:35am this morning.

Police responded to a call of an armed suspect inside a home in West Seneca around 2:25am this morning. The caller was female who said that after a disagreement with her boyfriend, he was walking around the home with a butcher knife. The caller said she was locked in the bathroom with her 2 and asked the police to come to the home.

The Erie County Sheriff's SWAT team was called to the scene but the suspect voluntary surrendered prior to them coming on to the scene. The suspect was taken to ECMC for evaluation and charges are pending.
