Whole Foods Comes To Buffalo
After a construction project that took nearly two years, Whole Foods has finally opened its first Buffalo-area store. Located on Sheridan Drive in Amherst in the Northtown Plaza on what used to be the Hens & Kelly, then later the Bon Ton store, Whole Foods was greeted by crowds of people eager to see what's inside.
Among the features - a large fresh seafood department, hand-carved meats, a wide-array of fresh produce, incredible baked goods, ready-cooked meals, a bar, even a place to play bocce and pool. And the whole time Whole Foods emphasizes organic recipes and ingredients.
I got a chance to walk around the store on Friday morning and the only thing I can't provide you is the smells I experienced. But at least here are the sights and sounds of the latest entry into the battle for Buffalo's grocery shoppers.
