Wind Turbines Could Slow Traffic Through June

It looks like traffic could be an issue for some motorist as wind turbines are moved through the area. According to WGRZ, the turbines and turbine parts will be moved daily from Hamburg to Arkwright (Chautauqua County).  Through June 12th, up to four convoys could be moving through the area between the hours of 9am and 3 pm through June 12th.

State Police will be along the routes to stop traffic and make sure the turbines are moved through safely. The turbines will be moved through the following routes,

• Route 5, Route 179 (Milestrip Road), McKinley Parkway, Route 391, and Route 219 in Erie County.
• Route 219, Route 242, Route 394, I-86, Route 60, Route 20 and Route 39 in Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.
