Western New York was not able to use the Rainbow Bridge because there was a big event that shut the entire thing down. It seems kind of random, but this unique event featured Americans versus Canadians in a match that brought a lot of happy people together.

There were tug-of-wars that happened on the Rainbow Bridge

Last Saturday, there was a tug of war on the actual bridge that shut down traffic in order to have fun and show a unity between the two countries. There were police agencies, government officials and tons of participants all there on Saturday to participate or watch the event unfold.

This is not the first time that this has happened, but it certainly got more attention maybe because of the tensions or apparent tensions that some may have because of potential tariffs that were going to go in place. This is actually the 57th time that the tug of war event happened on the bridge.

The United States men won their match while the Canadian women won theirs.

If you are traveling this year, especially flying make sure that you have your passport or REAL ID. It is now mandated for all flights, but the TSA also realizes that the process to get your physical REAL ID might take a few days so they are going to be lenient in that regard.
