It is typical for an outgoing President to give pardons right before they exit their Presidency. In total, President Trump granted pardons to 73 individuals and commuted the sentences of an additional 70 individuals to close out his term as the 45th President of the United States.

On the official White House website, there is a statement from the Press Secretary Regarding Executive Grants of Clemency. Douglas Jemal is a developer, mostly associated with his hand in the Seneca One Tower. The written section for Douglas Jemal reads:

President Trump granted a full pardon to Douglas Jemal. Mr. Jemal is an American businessman and philanthropist credited with rebuilding many urban inner cities in the United States. In 2008, Mr. Jemal was convicted of fraud. In addition, Mr. Jemal was instrumental to various other charitable causes, including the rebuilding of churches prior to his conviction.  Notably, at his trial the presiding judge told prosecutors that he thought it “inconceivable” to send Mr. Jemal to prison."

Some other notable people that were pardoned include Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, who was arrested in Niagara County and sentenced in State Supreme Court in Lockport for a gun possession charge in early 2020.

EXTRA: Today's Inauguration, will see many high-profile performers both during and after the swearing-in of President-Elect Joe Biden. Tim McGraw, Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, and Garth Brooks will represent country music in today's festivities.
