Returning home as a Gold Medalist has so many perks! First, you just won a gold medal for yourself, your team and your country. Second, everyone wants to see your medal! It was probably all of the above and more for Pfalzer on Saturday when she had a jammed packed weekend that included marching in the parade and signing plenty of autographs.

It was definitely a One Buffalo day for Getzville native Emily Pfalzer when she dropped the ceremonial puck at not one, but two Buffalo hockey games on Saturday! Dropping the puck for the team you watched growing up had to be special, but dropping the puck for a team she used to captain and help win the Isobel Cup had to be even more special!

Pfalzer was captain of the Buffalo Beauts form the 2015 to 2017 seasons, and help lead the team to the 2017 Isobel Cup championship! Congrats to Emily and welcome home!

It should also be noted that Emily and her gold medal brought luck to Buffalo. Not only was the weather great for the parade, but BOTH teams took home a win!
