This week's Hometown Hero is Ted Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson is a member of the NYS Veterans Hall of Fame who fought in Vietnam and has earned a ton of awards. It's for that and a bunch of other reasons that he has been named this week's Hometown Hero!
Our Hometown Hero this week is Matthew LaPlante from Tonawanda. He is a Sergeant in the Army and is currently deployed in Iraq. One of the coolest things about him is that he joined with his brother Andrew and has been serving with him.
It's always great to see the return of somebody who has been serving our country in times of war. Most of the time, you see soldiers surprising their kids, moms, dads, wives etc....In this video, it's the family dog that gets the surprise.
Many of us work our entire lives to get to a place of happiness and content in our careers. If you got there, would you give it all up to serve in the military? That's exactly what this former HBO executive is doing.
NASCAR pitcrews, eat your heart out! A friend emailed this video to me and I think you should see it. This is the real deal here. A group of soldiers pulls up to a crowd on the street, completely disassembles their Jeep, then reassembles it....in LESS than 4 minutes!
