Sotheby’s Motorcycle Auction in Chicago
378404 04: Marcia Taziola looks over a catalog featuring this 1930 Indian four-cylinder motorcycle up for auction Sept. 13, 2000 at Sotheby’s in Chicago. The estimated bidding value of this particular motorcycle is placed between $50,000 to $55,000. Sotheby’s has consigned nearly 80 motorcycles from famous American and European marquees such as Indian, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Triumph, Henderson, and others, Crocker, Brough Superior, FN, Thomas, and MV Agusta. Also offered will be 60 bicycles. Most of these bikes have been consigned by Mark Mattei whose extensive collection of bicycles is rivaled only by a handful of museums.
