10 Years Ago: Billy Currington hit #1 With “People Are Crazy”

Sometimes you get a song that seems to be an anthem for many people. "People Are Crazy" by Billy Currington is definitely one of those songs.

Released in March of 2009, Billy would hit #1 on the Billboard and Mediabase country chart the last week of July with the carefree tune.

One of the writers for "People Are Crazy" was Bobby Braddock, who has written a bunch of hits like, "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones, "Time Marches On" by Tracy Lawrence and "I Wanna Talk About Me" by Toby Keith.

Every time I hear it, I think of my dad. It wasn't often he would come right out and tell me how much he loved a current country song but that one, he let me know every chance he got how much he loved it.

To this day, it's considered one of Billy's signature songs.
