The Buffalo Police Department responded to an altercation involving a gun at a bar on the 300 block of Ellicott Street.
At approximately 6:45 PM on Saturday, two individuals walked into the bar, demanding that they be served. In response, the bartender asked for some identification, which was not received well.
One of the individuals showed what appeared to be a pistol, before using the instrument to “strike the bartender in the head,” according to the police report.
The two individuals allegedly took off on foot, and after a short chase, the two subjects were apprehended by police and a black BB gun was recovered.
A 13-year-old boy was charged with second-degree assault and a misdemeanor count of second-degree menacing.
It’s absolutely shocking to hear that a 13-year-old had a gun in his hand, let alone used it to whip another person. You have to commend the bartender for not losing his/her cool when this teenager struck him/her…as it would be pretty challenging to remain calm in that situation.
Bartenders have some of the most interesting stories when it comes to things that have happened at work, and you can read some more of those here.
