Bed Bugs Found in New York State Schools
This will make your skin crawl! There is a growing concern in the Syracuse area schools about the recent discovery of bed bugs in as many as five schools!
According to Metro Source News:
The pests were found at Expeditionary Learning Middle, Grant Middle, Lemoyne Elementary, Porter Elementary and Huntington Pre-K. The district announced yesterday that all of those schools were treated for the pests this past weekend.
The Erie County Health Department website refers to Bed Bugs as:
Bed bugs are small insects that feed on human blood. They are usually active at night when people are sleeping. The bite of a bed bug is usually painless, and a person may not even know that they have been bitten until a large itchy welt appears on their skin several days later. While these bites may be a nuisance, bed bugs do not transmit disease to humans.
