Bills Mafia Demands An Apology After Today Show Anchor Flub
It was just a simple mistake, but Bills Mafia was quick to correct an anchor on the Today Show who had a slip of the tongue.
It all started with a New York Giants loss
Last night, the New York Giants were embarrassed by the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. They ended up losing to Seattle 24-3. On a year where they were coming off a playoff berth with a new coach for the first time in years, it's fair to say that expectations for the Giants were pretty high in the off-season.
They are now 1-3 and things don't seem to be getting any better for them any time soon.
After watching the highlights, Craig Melvin misspoke
The Today Show was showing the highlights of the game this morning and when they came back to the desk, Craig Melvin said what should never be said in the presence of any member of the Bills Mafia. He said, "Wouldn't it be nice if New York had one good football team?"
We all know what he meant. He meant that both the Giants and the Jets (who claim to be from New York, but really play in New Jersey) are just bad. And they are bad.
The Jets are at the bottom of the AFC East once again even though they beat the Bills in overtime to start the season. They've lost every game since then with Zach Wilson under center.
But they aren't the only teams in New York. As a matter of fact, they aren't even from New York!
Bills Mafia didn't let him get away with it
If you look at Twitter, you can see Bills Mafia begin to jump on it right away. Almost immediately they correct Melvin by explaining that there is only one true team in New York, and they're pretty dang good.
Melvin did correct his mistake after coming back from a commercial, but the deed had already been done. He probably won't make the same mistake again.
