We are less than two weeks away from the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft from Las Vegas.

Many fans have already done a few dozen mock draft simulations, and yes, I’m one of those fans.

The Buffalo Bills are the Super Bowl favorites going into the 2022 season, which I’ve never seen before. If you look at their roster, past success, and who their quarterback is, it makes sense.

They have the deepest roster in the NFL but there are two positions fans want them to address in the first three rounds of the draft.

Wide receiver and cornerback.

This draft is not top heavy for wide receivers and cornerbacks, but there is a plethora of them between the middle of the first round to the end of the second round.

There is a scenario that Bills fans will want to avoid at all costs in the first round on April 28th.

If there is not a run on quarterbacks in the first round, that would be bad for Buffalo.

There really is not a lockdown on when quarterbacks like Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis, Matt Corral and Desmond Ridder will go. All four could go on the first round or only one goes in the first. We just don’t know.

If none or one goes before pick 25, that likely means there’s a big run on cornerbacks and wide receivers. I’ve seen mock drafts where Sauce Gardner (CB), Derek Stingley Jr. (CB), Trent McDuffie (CB), Andrew Booth Jr. (CB), Garrett Wilson (WR), Drake London (WR), Jameson Williams (WR) and Chris Olave (WR) are all gone by pick 25.

In today’s NFL it’s about passing and defending the pass.

The Bills could still grab a CB or WR that fits them and would be fair value — like Kaiir Elam (CB) or Skyy Moore (WR), but if Brandon Beane wants one of the previously mentioned players, trading up is a likely must do.
