An Open Letter To Buffalo Fans Watching The NFL Draft

NFL Draft weekend is here. Before Sunday, hundreds of new college players will be joining new teams, and somewhere in that team's fanbase, will be a fan who is angry about it.

It doesn't matter how good a player they are, fans almost always have the worst reactions when those names are called. Remember some of these moments?

Can you even imagine a Kansas City Chiefs fan getting angry over them choosing Patrick Mahomes? It happened, and there's video evidence.

Buffalo fans did the same thing over Josh Allen

The year the Bills chose Josh Allen, there were a bunch of big-name quarterbacks in the mix. That was the year that Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, and Sam Darnold were also chosen. There was a guy named Josh Rosen who was also highly touted by the so-called "experts."

When Josh Allen's name was called, Bills fans were beside themselves. This was the Bills' chance to finally come out of the darkness and become a reputable franchise again, and THIS is the direction they're deciding to go in?  A guy who had to write letters to every single division one school he could just to be considered? Sure, he had a rocket for an arm, but he has accuracy issues! What are they doing?!?

Things seem to have worked out for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

Granted, the Bills have struck out on some of their picks recently, too (Remember the name, Kaiir Elam?). But for the most part, they've been able to find some diamonds in the rough.

This weekend, just enjoy the process. There's nothing we can do to change it anyway. Get excited about what might be and try not to make too many assumptions about what you heard some so-called "expert" say about these players. They're young men. They can learn.

And in the end...it's just a game.
