Spring is here in Western New York and with that comes tons of fresh fruits that you can use to make amazing drinks this weekend.

Of the most abundant fruits out there right now are blueberries so this week for my "Drink of the Week" I will show you how to make a blueberry vodka drink that now only looks good but tastes good.

You want to start with making your own blueberry simple syrup. Add 1/2 cup water, 1/2 of sugar, and 1 cup of blueberries into a pan. Bring the mixture up to boil and then simmer for 15 minutes. You can use a slotted spoon to crush the blueberries to really bring out the juice.

For this drink, you want to use good vodka, so I went with Tito's vodka, which is on sale for only $29.99 for the big 1.75 liters at Best Value Wine and Liquor in West Seneca.

Take 3oz of Titos vodka, 1oz of your blueberry simple syrup, and 3oz of club soda and put into a shaker full of ice. Shake well and then strain into a glass full of ice and add some fresh blueberries and you are all set.

The best part is that you can switch out the blueberries for other fruit like raspberries, strawberries, or any other berry.
