Prom season is right around the corner, and it can be expensive when it comes to planning. Luckily, one Western New York business is looking to help fulfill your dream gown.

Employees at National Fuel are working together to collect dresses for a big prom dress giveaway next month, which includes one lucky person receiving a custom prom gown.

The custom-designed prom gown will be created by a well-esteemed fashion designer who also happens to be an employee at National Fuel!

Daykeyla McGee has more to her resume than you would guess! Sure, she works at National Fuel, but she is super creative and talented. McGee has shown collections in New York, London, and other big cities. She has been featured in a few fashion magazines, and she has made a few dresses for celebrities, including actress Tiffany Haddish.

And one Buffalo student is going to get a chance to receive a custom prom dress.

McGee hopes that her one-of-a-kind dress design makes the student feel totally beautiful.

This prom dress giveaway is for Buffalo public and charter school students, and it will be held on April 29 at 11 am. The event should last three hours, and it will be held at the Frank E. Merriweather Library in downtown Buffalo.

As of now, National Fuel staff members have collected 75 dresses, and they have been dry cleaned too!

To enter the contest, you will need to submit a 100 word essay on why you deserve a custom gown and a copy of your student ID and/or report card.

Any submissions for the contest can be emailed to EDGE@natfuel.com by March 24, and the winner will be notified no later than March 29.

And if you wish to donate a dress, you can drop those off at the National Fuel headquarters, which is located at 6363 Main Street, Williamsville, New York.
