The Buffalo Sabres are now in off-season mode and will be for the next two months. Training camp will start in late September.

The team was on fans’ minds last week, however, with development camp taking place at HarborCenter.

The four-day camp allowed Sabres fans to see the prospects show their skills, including players who should factor into the Sabres regular season plans in 2022-2023; Peyton Krebs, Owen Power, JJ Peterka, Jack Quinn and Mattias Samuelsson.

Goaltenders Devon Levi and Erik Portillo looked great and Levi made one of the more unbelievable saves you will ever see during the shootout on Saturday against Quinn.

The Sabres also had time to have some fun with their new draft picks and prospects. They asked some of the players to do their best to draw the Sabres logo.

The results were actually better than you think. Check out the video below.

Josh Passolt’s looks the best. The next best is Peyton Krebs. I’m actually quite impressed how well some of them were able to draw a circle without the help of a template. I can’t draw a good-looking circle to save me, so props for that.

For now, it feels like the work is done for general manager Kevyn Adams. They landed on Eric Comrie to be a starting goaltender in free agency, with Craig Anderson being the 1B goalie and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen being the number one goalie to start the year in Rochester.

The Sabres made it pretty clear that they want their young guys to play.
