City of Buffalo Spells Street Sign WRONG
The City of Buffalo spelled a street sign wrong, and in true Facebook fashion, they love to pile up on the comments. Did they actually spell the sign wrong, though?
Margaret Dowling posted a picture on Facebook that went viral over the weekend. There is a sign on the corner of Amherst Street at Grant Street in Buffalo that is apparently misspelled. Now, I am not a spelling guru. In fact, I am pretty bad at spelling, but I wouldn't have caught this.
the sign says, "Right lane MUST turn right except busses".
According to Grammarly:
The plural form of bus is buses. To be fair, a few dictionaries do list busses as an alternative plural form of bus. But it appears so rarely that most people would view it as a spelling error.
Apparently, you can spell it either way.
