It's hard to believe it, but as July has arrived, we're well into the summer season. School is out, and people are taking vacations left and right. While it's all fun now, before you know it, fall will be here.

While it's true that no one wants to think of the fact that fall and winter are coming, the truth of the matter is that summer in the Northeast is short, and we have a lot of things that we want to do and not a lot of time to do them in.

So, with so many things that happen every day in the Buffalo area, there are quite a few things that must end up on your summer bucket list. If you haven't filled your to-do list yet, take a look at the few ideas we have below.

Official Western New York Summer To Do List

Don't let the warm weather pass you by with you just sitting around in the office; there's plenty to do every day in Western New York during the summer, so check these items out. So, it's time to put aside the excuses that have kept us inside and get outside to explore everything the 716 (along with the 585, 905, and 416) has to offer.

Go Catch Some Summer Football

One thing you know pretty well is that Buffalo loves its football. In Buffalo, we have two great football options with both the Bills and the Bulls; as you know, this is a football town with a drinking problem. Both teams are getting their summer activities going, and with that, you can get your fill at UB North Campus in Amherst, St. John Fisher in Rochester, or Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.

Take In A Baseball Game

Even though this is a drinking city with a serious football problem, Western New Yorkers love baseball. America's pastime lives well in the 716 with the great MiLB AAA team we have in the Buffalo Bisons. The Bisons play in a historic baseball park in downtown Buffalo. They are directly affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays, which means we have access to some excellent baseball (either right downtown or just 90 minutes away in Toronto). Baseball is a summer game, so head to the field to check it out.

Visit A Water Park or an Amusement

There are great places to play all over the region, so whether you want a roller coaster or a water park, you have plenty of options. You have Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World, Splash Lagoon, Great Wolf Lodge, Six Flags Darien Lake, Seabreeze, Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, and Canada's Wonderland, to name a few. Western New York and Southern Ontario have tons to offer, and they should all be on your summer bucket list.

Hit The Beach

We have the benefit of having access to something that most Americans don't: one of the most significant sources of freshwater. The Great Lakes are just minutes from all of our houses, and since there are miles of waterfront on both sides of an international border, there are several beaches sprinkled all around the region that are calling for you to stop by.

Stop By Niagara Falls

It's easy to forget that we have a wonder of the world right in our backyard: Niagara Falls. Millions of people come to Western New York to see it. Make a day trip out of it and wander around Niagara Falls, USA, or Niagara Falls, Canada, like a tourist.

These are all things on my summer bucket list. What are some things that you can suggest?
