Making plans for summer right now? Are you looking at your bank account and wondering how to make it the best summer ever for the kids? This could be the summer that you do as the acronym tells you to, and keep it simple.

More money doesn't always mean more fun

Just because you spend a lot of money on a summer vacation doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to be more fun. If you've ever spent a lot of money on a trip only to have your kids turn around and tell you they're bored, you know what I'm talking about. Kids don't really understand what things cost. They just understand if it's fun or not.

We've been very lucky to have gone on some really nice vacations with our kids. Now that they're grown, it's pretty crazy to talk with them and hear which ones gave them the most memories. Most of the time, it's not the ones where we came back without any money. It's the ones where they were engaged with whatever we were doing.

Want to relieve stress this summer? Don't add it to your vacation

Vacations are meant to give you some time to rest, or at the very least, come back refreshed and a little more invigorated. If you're constantly on the move, that can be hard for some people to do.

Simple vacations can really be natural stress relievers. They can also help you to create memories with your kids that they will take with them for the rest of their lives. But it's not even always about that. Sometimes it's nice to do simple adult things too!
