
Five Summer Festivals That Are Still Coming Up In Western New York
We've had our fair share of fun festivals and lawn fetes here in Western New York this summer. While many people use the Erie County Fair as a marker for the end of summer, we're not done with festivals just yet!
People are already starting to get their kids ready to head back to school, but summer isn't over just yet. It's still summer until September 22nd! You still have some time to sneak in some fun before the first period bell rings.
1. The South Buffalo Irish Festival - "A family friendly festival to celebrate Irish music and culture. A full day of Irish music and dancing in Cazenovia Park"
When: Saturday August 29, 2026
Where: Cazenovia Park
What: A celebration of Irish culture including Irish music, dancing, and more
2. Picklefest Buffalo - "A celebration of all things pickle."
When: Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 9 a.m.
Where: Riverworks
What: Pickleball tournament, Pickle Vendors, Pickle-themed food and drinks, and more
3. The Buffalo German Festival - "The kickoff event to Oktoberfest season"
When: Friday, August 28th (From 5 pm until 10:00 pm) and Saturday, August 31st (From noon to 9:00 pm)
Where: Cheektowaga Town Park
What: "German beer and cuisine, listening to authentic bands, learning traditional dances, participating in contests and games, and partying for a weekend with nearly 2,000 of your friends and family!"
4. The National Buffalo Wing Festival - "The National Buffalo Wing Festival celebrates the “Chicken Wing”, known nationally as “Buffalo Wings”, which have become a national food icon."
When: Saturday, Aug. 29th (From 11 am to 8 pm) and Sunday, Aug. 30th (From 11 am to 6 pm)
Where: Sahlen Field – “Home of the Buffalo Bisons” 275 Washington Street Buffalo, NY
What: A festival celebrating the chicken wing. You'll get to try wings from a bunch of in-state and out-of-state vendors, plus watch wing-eating contests, live music, and more.
5. The Niagara County Peach Festival
When: Thursday Sept. 10 - Sunday Sept. 13th
Where: Academy Park in Lewiston, NY
What: Live entertainment, food, rides, a parade, a Peach Queen Contest, and more
