Remember when you were a kid and your neighbor had a fridge in their garage with all the good popsicles in it? You'd go over to their house as often as you could because they had the good stuff. If you're hoping to be the neighbor with all the good stuff in their fridge, this study might be helpful for you.

A Study Determined The Favorite Popsicle Flavor In Each State

Take a guess right now, before you read any further, and see if you can guess which flavor they came up with for New York State, then scroll down to see their results.

Recently, Madonna University, a college focused on nursing and health, did a study to determine the favorite flavor of popsicles (or ice pops) in each state. They realized that not only are popsicles nostalgic, but when it comes to care, they're cold, familiar, easy for patients to tolerate, and they offer a small source of comfort.

They used Google trends search data from the past 12 months to see which brand and flavor people were looking for the most. When it comes to New York, to say we were shocked to see which flavor people were searching for the most would be an understatement.

New York's favorite popsicle flavor was...what?!?

The classic flavors tend to dominate the top of the chart, with orange leading in 16 states and grape in second place with 11 states. That's not very surprising. Then things get weird. Third place was fruit punch in 5 states.

Watermelon, lime, lemon, raspberry, and cherry follow in that order. Then it's all single states. Pineapple in Hawaii, strawberry in Massachusetts, peach in New York.

Wait...peach? Peach is the most popular flavor in New York?  Is there something we're missing? What is the last time you had a peach popsicle? Don't get me wrong, it sounds delicious. I have just never had a peach popsicle ever. And no other state was searching for that either.

Is there a popsicle that is only available in New York that's peach-flavored?
