The Best Summer Yard Games For Western New York
We don't get all that long to enjoy it, so when summer finally gets here, we love to play our yard games in Western New York.
Party season is here. If you're going to be having people over to your house, you should probably have something for them to do. These yard games will keep most people busy at your next big family party.
Remember when you were a kid at a party and you had to watch out for flying horseshoes around the adults? They were actual horseshoes. Not these rubber things that you can buy these days. They were heavy metal horseshoes, and every adult who was playing was normally drinking pretty heavily.
If it wasn't that, it was huge lawn darts that had lead tips that could easily put you in the hospital. We called them Jarts (or lawn darts) and they were dangerous enough that they were banned in New York State. Luckily, the games have gotten a little bit safer, and still haven't lost their fun. If you're like me, you can throw cornhole bags all day and still want to wake up and do it the next day.
Summer is (unofficially) here now and our window to enjoy it is short. So if you're planning on entertaining people, now is the time to load up on some of these games. Almost every one of them involves throwing something, like a beanbag, or another object at a target. They're all just a little different in the point system and the rules that they play by at that house.
