Due to concerns over coronavirus, the usual Garden Walk weekend was cancelled.

The virtual event is happening throughout the month of July. WGRZ reports Garden Walk Buffalo will be putting new content on their website and social media pages daily, including interviews with professional gardeners, and backyard tours of gardens that would normally be part of the traditional in-person guided tours.

Because the Garden Walk usually attracts so many visitors from outside the Western New York area, the decision was made to go virtual instead.

But if you prefer to smell the flowers for real, about 70 private gardens across the region will have open garden tours on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as "front yard garden strolls" on Sundays.
