Wingfest Comes Home For 2020 Event

Like most events scheduled for 2020, this one is gonna be a little different than usual.

Drew Cerza, founder of Wingfest, announced changes to this year's program -- most notably, taking it inside your homes, and out to local restaurants and bars across the U.S.

According to a press release from earlier today, Wingfest will now be an even bigger celebration than originally planned. The event, usually scheduled for Labor Day weekend, is going nationwide -- and inside -- and being moved to October.

"America’s Greatest Chicken Wing Party" will be a national celebration of the chicken wing, also serving as a massive fundraising effort for food banks in over 50 cities in the United States. 

Participants will host private chicken wing parties in affiliated cities throughout the month of October, now officially known as "National Chicken Wing Month."

Lead by Buffalo Bills Backers Fan Clubs in each city, "America's Greatest Chicken Wing Party" will kick off the festivities on October 4 by hosting watch parties during the Buffalo Bills vs Las Vegas Raiders game. According to Wingfest founder Drew Cerza, each wing party will serve as a fundraiser for the local food bank in that city.

Everyone who loves chicken wings is encouraged to host their own parties too, and share how they're raising money for their local food banks on social media using the hashtag #wingparty2020. Wingfest organizers note that all parties that register with the site, and after they make their food bank donations, will be entered to win a prize that includes attending the 2021 Wingfest as VIP judges.

Since it was founded, Wingfest has raised over $400,000 for local charities.
