A bullied young boy from Pennsylvania has died after being removed from life support during a medically induced coma.

Bailey O'Neill was placed in a medically induced coma after being punched in the face while kids were bullying him in the schoolyard. He was taken off life support this past Sunday. His 12th birthday was Saturday.

This is a complete shame. When does it end? How do we end these tragedies? Parents need to step up to the plate and do more to prevent bullies from emerging. Kids need to stand up for others and stop harassing other kids day in and day out. According to NBC, Stephen Butz, superintendent of the Southeast Delco School District, wrote in a statement on Sunday

Late yesterday, we were informed about the death of Bailey O'Neill. Our school community is deeply saddened by this loss. Our condolences are with Bailey's family and friends during this very difficult time.

The altercation happened when Bailey was getting bullied by a group of students when one punched his face, breaking his nose on January 10.  Bailey went to the doctor’s office was treated and released but, days later, started having violent seizures. He was put into a medically induced coma shortly after.

“No charges were ever filed, and officials never released details of the altercation. However, it is not clear whether the death could alter that."

Friends of the family started a page on Facebook for Bailey stating:

"With the heaviest heart we want to inform you all that Bailey has gone to be with the Lord please, please, please continue to pray for his family and continue on this fight for us until no child ever has to face a situation like this again. God Bless You all thank you so much!"
