Add Carl Edwards' name to the list of drivers guaranteed a spot in Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship at the end of the season.  Edwards led from the pole and dominated Sunday's race at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Edwards led 276 of 500 laps for his fourth win at Bristol and the 26th of his career. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. battled back from nearly three laps down to finish second.  Earnhardt's number-88 Chevy lost power at the start of the race when too much pressure on the brakes activated the automatic "kill" switch on his car.  His crew was able to get him back on the track after they rebooted the system.

Kurt Busch came in third while rookie Chase Elliott came in fourth, a career best for him.  Trevor Bayne came in fifth for his first Top 5 finish since winning the Daytona 500 in 2011 and Matt DiBenedetto came in sixth - the best finish in his Sprint Cup career.

While it was a great day for Edwards it was a miserable day for his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates.  Two blown front tires caused Kyle Busch to slam into a wall ending his day early.  He came in 38th.  Matt Kenseth and Denny Hamlin also blew front tires that took them out of contention.

Edwards victory moves him into second place in the season points standings, one point back of first place Kevin Harvick.

Richmond is up next on the schedule next Sunday.
