Cemetery For Veterans Coming to WNY

There is no close Veteran's Cemetary in Buffalo or the surrounding areas and Senator Chuck Schumer is on a mission to get one in Western New York.

He is granting 23 million dollars to get a 137 acre site in Pembroke for Veteran's when they pass. It will be 2,500 burial sites and about 1,500 spaces for cremations.

The closest Veteran's Cemetary is about 2 hours away in Bath, NY.

Making this cemetery come to reality has been and remains one of my top priorities, and I won’t stop fighting until it comes to fruition,” Schumer said in a statement, adding that he wants to secure another $10 million in this year's federal budget to complete the project", according to WGRZ.
