Congratulations to Sweet Home High School’s STARS Students!

I was honored to be invited to Sweet Home High School this morning to speak with some very special students. It was a breakfast for their STARS program. STARS is an acronym that stands for Students That Are Really Special.

The criteria to be invited to the breakfast is pretty specific: Students have to have achieved at least an 80 percent grade for three marking periods, have had no more than two absences, have no failing or incomplete grades and have not had to spend any time in the office for bad referrals.

That's a lot of stuff there! Just the absences alone would have gotten me!

I appreciate that they asked me to stand up and say congrats to these young men and women, and I wish them the best of luck.  Don't ever stop being special!
