John Faller was one of the most iconic names in high school football around Western New York. On Saturday, the former Sweet Home football coach passed away, according to WIVB.

Faller was a huge part of Sweet Home sports history. His record was 217-84 and 1, during his 31 seasons coaching the Panthers. He is currently fourth all-time in Western New York victories, as well as wining back-to-back New York State championships in 2008 and 2009. He retired after the 2017 season.

He was inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

Growing up in Amherst and someone who once upon a time attended Sweet Home High School, coach Faller was definitely beloved by his players, staff and students. Rest in peace to a legend in high school sports.
