New Reporter Is Joining This Buffalo TV Station
This news channel in Western New York is one that is well-known in the area. They have generally retained most of their employees for several years, but recently the station has gone through some changes.
Over the last year, WGRZ-TV (Channel 2) has parted ways with a few recognizable faces in the area, including anchor-reporter Michael Wooten, the former host of Most Buffalo - Kate Welshofer, popular weather anchor Maria Genero, and more.
They say when one door closes, another one opens, and that is the case for one new face who will be joining the WGRZ-TV (Channel 2) team.
The newest addition to the on-air staff, joining 2 On Your Side, is Courtney Cortright. She will be an anchor and a reporter at WGRZ-TV.
Before joining the team at WGRZ, Cortright covered news as an anchor in the Greenville, NC market, where she anchored the newscasts for the local WNCT-TV station.
While Cortright has been in North Carolina for the last couple years, she was actually born and raised in New York state.
Cortright announced the news on her X page on Tuesday evening.
“I am so excited to announce I am back in my home state of NY! Can’t wait to work with a talented team of journalists at WGRZ - Channel 2, Buffalo! @WGRZ.”
A graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT, Cortright previously anchored and reported in Bangor, ME.
You will be able to see Courtney Cortright filling in on the popular show, Most Buffalo, which airs at 4 PM every weekday. The current host of Most Buffalo, Lauren Hall, is on maternity leave, but Hall is set to return to her role when she returns.
Welcome back to New York, Courtney! We’re excited to have you in the 716.
