Cpl. Tyler Skinner Is This Week’s Hometown Hero!
It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs gaming. Our Hometown Hero today is from Clarence, NY. It’s USMC Cpl Tyler Skinner!
Tyler enlisted as a high school senior. He left for Parris Island on January 2, 2011 and has deployed on several missions and training exercises since his enlistment. He's on his second Tour Of Duty. He and his squadron have won several awards of accomplishment.
To put his sacrifice into perspective, on his 19th birthday Ty was a recruit getting the gas chamber. He turned 20 while on assignment somewhere undisclosed. He turned 21 at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan and will be turning 23 on his last Tour Of Duty. He has missed every Thanksgiving with his family, several Christmases and other holidays. What were you doing on your 21st birthday?
It’s people like Tyler who make us proud. Thank you goes out to him and his entire family. We are proud to call him this week’s Hometown Hero.
Remember to nominate your Hometown Hero below!
Thanks once again to Corporal Tyler Skinner, our Hometown Hero of the week!
