Danielle Nichols Is This Week’s Hometown Hero
It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming with help from our friends at WNY Heroes who help us with our nominations every week. This week, our Hometown Hero from Amherst, NY served in the United States Coast Guard. It’s Danielle Nichols!
In June 2001 she joined the United States Coast Guard. Nichols served until 2006. During her time in service, Nichols was an Aviation Maintenance Technician and worked on the HU-25 Falcon. She was stationed in Hatteras North Carolina, Elizabeth City North Carolina, and Mobile Alabama. While Nichols was in Mobile, Alabama, hurricane Katrina took place. Nichols participated in many search and rescue cases and drug interdiction.
Fun fact: Nichols was the shortest person in the CG
This week, we are proud to name Danielle Nichols our Hometown Hero of the week!
