Bills Fans Honor Dawson Knox’s Brother With Donations
Football fans all over the country are still reeling from the news of the sudden death of Luke Knox, brother of Bills tight end Dawson Knox. And as they always do, #BillsMafia is coming together to make sure something good comes out of this horrible tragedy.
This morning, Florida International University, where Knox played football, announced his death in a shocking and saddening tweet.
The news hit especially hard for Buffalo Bills fans, who adore our star Knox and share in his grief. In true Bills Mafia fashion, instead of just letting the news pass them by, they’re taking action to make a difference.
Bills Mafia Making Donations In Honor Of Luke Knox
Bills Fans have started flooding the P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative with donations in increments of either $16 or $16.88 to honor the Bills star’s little brother. What makes this specific amount of money so special? 16 was the number worn by the late Luke Knox at FIU, while 88, obviously, is currently worn by Dawson.
P.U.N.T., which was founded in 2004 by Brian Moorman and stands for “Perseverance, Understanding, Need and Teamwork,” provides financial support and other resources to Western New York families with children battling cancer.
Knox has been a faithful supporter of P.U.N.T. for years, earning money for the organization through his Knox Sox collaboration - where 25% of every purchase goes directly to families who need it.
Bills Fans Have A History Of Giving Back
This is far from the first time #BillsMafia has shown its generosity. After the Ravens lost to the Bills in last year’s playoffs, Bills fans donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Lamar Jackson’s favorite charity, Blessings In A Backpack.
And in 2020, after the loss of Josh Allen’s beloved grandmother Patricia, fans donated over a million dollars to Oishei Children’s Hospital - enough to open a new pediatric recovery wing that bears her name.
Bills Mafia never ceases to impress. Although they may be more known primarily for jumping through tables, they should be far more renowned for their selfless acts of kindness. They really are the greatest fans in the world.
You can make your own donation to P.U.N.T. in whatever amount you’d like right here.
