Buffalo’s “Free Hugs” Guy Releases New Ice Cream Flavor

He is known around Western New York as one of the most positive, optimistic people around, and it all started with his initiative to give free hugs to whoever needed it. 

If you have driven through Glen Falls, odds are you have seen this smiley guy near Main St. on the side of the road, doing his due diligence to make your day a little better. 

His name is Trey Young, and you will often find him holding a sign that says “FREE HUGS” in all capital letters. Young describes himself as “a hugger,” who loves people and speaks positivity through life. 

Many people have noticed the work that Young has poured into his local community, including one locally owned business by the name of Sweet Jenny’s.

Sweet Jenny’s was so moved by Young’s efforts to spread the love, they decided to ask him if they could partner up together to create an ice cream flavor that will raise money for a charity of his choice. 

Of course, Trey Young said yes. 

You can try a newly added flavor to the Sweet Jenny’s menu called, “Free Hugs Guy - Hearts and Hugs.” It is a chocolate and vanilla ice cream swirled together with chopped up Hershey hug kisses. The proceeds raised from the ice cream flavor’s sales will help benefit RPM - Zion Dominion Global Ministries. 

And to think it all started with Young giving free hugs….now he’s slowly changing the world.
