5 New Summer Beers You Need to Try in Buffalo
The summer brews start to roll out fast and furious this time of the year, and one WNY brewery is adding a second flavor to its already popular Kolsch beer line.
We are all familiar with the TV spin-off. Family Guy paved the path for The Cleveland Show. Law and Order had what felt like a dozen spin-offs. And one of the most famous of all time, Laverne and Shirley, centered around beer.
Now, a Rochester brewery is serving up a spin-off beer. Genesse Brewery, makers of the insanely popular Ruby Red Kolsch, is about to introduce its spin-off, Tropical Pineapple Kolsch.
Apparently, the fictional mascot of Rudby Red Kolsch, "Captain Kolsch", went on a tropical vacation..
The new tropical version of Genny's Kolsch beer will make its debut this week. Tropical Pineapple Kolsch will be available in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans across Western and Upstate NY throughout the summer.
The new Kolsch flavor will have the same Kolsch base as the Ruby Red Kolsch but replaces the ruby red grapefruit with tropical pineapple. Genny says that you can expect a bright and refreshing beer, with a delicate balance of hops, fruit, and a malt body.
Jaime Polisoto, Genesee brand director said via a press release:
Fans have been asking for another Kolsch for a while now. The brand has earned social media buzz and helped to connect new beer drinkers to the Genesee Brewery
