Iconic Structure is Back Up in Tonawanda [PHOTO]
The last nine months have been incredibly tough for the City of Buffalo and Western New York, perhaps the worst year the region has seen.
The weather we have seen has been a part of that, which included two historic snowstorms for Western New York.
The first was the week before Thanksgiving, with 4-6 feet of snow falling from South Buffalo to Hamburg, which caused the Bills home game against the Cleveland Browns to be moved to Detroit; cleanup in Buffalo went into Thanksgiving weekend.
Then the Christmas weekend blizzard, which took the lives of 50 residents. Christmas plans were ruined for those in Erie County, as the storm caused undrivable conditions for Buffalo. The winds also caused thousands to go without power and did damage to certain establishments.
One of those was the Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome in the Town of Tonawanda, which has been a staple for those driving down the I-190. The golf dome has been damaged multiple times now and some wondered if this most recent storm was the end of the golf dome?
It was not.
The Town of Tonawanda announced on Saturday morning that the golf dome was officially back up! They still need to cleanup and have things inside fixed, but they're getting closer to it reopening to the public.
The Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome is something we're all used to seeing on that drive and while we can't guarantee we won't see another historic winter storm in our future, it's great to see it back up.
