The days of going to your favorite bank when you are getting things at the store may be gone soon. There is a growing trend among banks across the country that may soon be an issue here in New York State.

Once you find a bank that you love, it is hard to change to another. Whether it is the customer service or the great benefits that you get, there is something special about getting comfortable with a bank.

There are reports that certain banks are deciding to close their satellite locations at grocery stores. It may become a little frustrating when you want to be efficient with that to-do list.

According to CNBC.com:

Banks closed 10.7% of their in-store branches in the year ending June 30, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation data. The closure rate for other branches was 1.4% during that period.

This happens as we are seeing reports that banks are having layoff and some uncertainty.

I really enjoy being able to bank at the local grocery store. It beats waiting in line in a drive thru and a bank. It seems that when I use the bank at the store, the hours are better. Some locations are open late and even offer hours on Saturday.

The Holiday season starts this week and hopefully any changes in the banks will wait until 2024. We have enough to be stressed about this time of the year.
