If you are a fan of country music from the 80s and 90s, there is no doubt you love the music of Alabama! It has been 50 years since they started their legendary successful career, and now they are ready to hit the road to celebrate the anniversary!According to reports, Alabama will be playing at least 30 shows through 2022 and some of them will be not far down the 90 from Buffalo.

Pittsburgh Pennsylvania seems to be the closest venue so far on the tour schedule for Alabama‘s 50th anniversary.

I remember seeing Alabama and a “ farewell tour“ at melody fair theater years ago. What is now the site of a Walmart, was the site of some incredible concerts in the history of WYRK. It was a packed house the night Alabama said farewell, the first time. Lead singer of the group Alabama, Randy Owen, did perform and Buffalo after that as part of our WYRK Toyota Taste of Country. It was the same year that Blake Shelton was a part of our sold out show in downtown Buffalo. The band Alabama has always been good to the western New York area and the fans in this region. I also remember seeing them at the Erie County Fair in August 2015! And they were as solid as ever.

I was actually surprised that there were no dates scheduled specifically in Buffalo or western New York. However things may change and who knows before the end of this farewell tour and the anniversary shows we may see Randy Owen again!

If you are fortunate enough and would like to take a road trip to see the group, you are in for a real treat.
